Welcome to term 3 where there are many wonderful events and challenges planned. To see further details, please refer to the attached 'Term 3 Parent Paper'.
We received the attached letter and certificate for our participation in the recent Write 4 Fun competition.
All entries were fantastic and I would just like to congratulate everyone who entered.
I would like to thank all of the students who completed the Metro Safety Poster homework that was due on Wednesday 3rd May.
Unfortunately, we (the 5/6 staff) did not read the fine print clearly and we can not send in all entries to the competition - we are limited to 3 entries per class.
The students will complete some voting early next week to determine which 3 entries will be sent to represent 5/6 B.
Please accept our sincere apologies, and I am more than happy to meet with anyone if they have further concerns.
Carrying on from our work within the classroom about ANZAC Day, we were lucky enough to have a guest speaker address the 5/6 unit yesterday. Graeme Drought, Chloe’s Grandfather, came in and shared his family’s involvement in World War I. Students found this very interesting given that some of them have recently discovered their own family’s connection to this or other conflicts. Thanks again to Graeme for taking the time to speak to the students.
Further to this, tomorrow we will be attending an incursion - Messenger Dogs – Tales of WWI
Meet the fourth division ‘Messenger Dogs’ Nell, Trick and Bullet and see WWI through their eyes. Their tales are of courage, determination, endurance and mateship on the frontline working alongside the Australian Imperial Force. Responsible for carrying messages from the front line back to headquarters their stories sometimes go unrecognised – but to those who served over a hundred years ago, and even those who serve today, dogs play an important role and not just as loyal companions.
Our winter time, inter-school sports are about to begin.
Ms Evans has put together a note on uniform and safety requirements for each of the sports - football, soccer and netball.
Please check out the note below, and for any detailed questions, please see Lyn at school (not available on Thursdays).
Yes, it's that time of year again....already :)
The school is holding is annual Twilight Sports Extravaganza this afternoon.
Please remember your picnic rug and the BBQ will be running for those wishing to purchase something hot and yum for dinner.
I look forward to seeing all students - particularly those in 5/6 B - at this fun filled events
